Its finally here, the dev blog I mean. Colenia's not out for like 2 weeks. Anyways Colenia 9. It's approaching and I'm pretty sure I promised this for half a year. So to celebrate the new year and a new Colenia release, here is the long awaited dev blog. Sorry for the low res images.
Alright so. In fashion of all recent Colenia releases, we are trying to spice up the foundations of the server itself and add a ton of new systems to make the game enjoyable whilst you duke it out politically. This reset we're aiming to make many things customizable so you can enjoy the game how you want to. So let's take a look at everything shall we?
Factions:
Well, this section was originally like half this dev blog, but we ultimately decided against the new plugin as it would be a headache ingame. Instead, we decided to create our own factions plugin. No longer are factions glorified parties. The plugin will add many new systems to make factions more customizable and fun to interact with. Assuming it'll be made in time, you will be able to vote in state assemblies, create dynasties, hold elections, and choose your own ideology! Future dev blogs will be made on these systems once they're being close to implemented, but for now I'll show you some concepts that were made (more on these when the time comes):

(Mock of dynasty system)

Vehicles:
In addition to movecraft vehicles we also have added vehicles in the form of moving entities you can pilot/drive. These vehicles will run on fuel and can be refueled by any fuel source ingame. Each vehicle also has it's own storage. Vehicles will be bought using the command associated with the vehicle. IE, /carShop, /racecarShop, /tankShop

(The trunk, Fuel, and vrm vrm machines)

List of available vehicles:
1. Car
2. Race Car
3. Bike
4. Miner Drill
5. Tank
6. Plane
7. Helicopter
8. Tractor
9. Train
10. Submarine
Space Rework:
Space was kind of a mess last reset. This reset we promise full customizability, making it less difficult, and making it more rewarding then a place you can just visit. This reset, you will be able to visit different stars with your fully customizable spacecraft. You will reach space once you reach the height limit of the world. Achieve this normally without a spacecraft and you'll basically die. So to avoid this reach the height in a certain movecraft vehicle which will automatically transport you into space.

From there you can visit stars and planets alike. In addition to the main trio of planets there will be tons of small planets around. These planets will have special things they specialize in. Some planets may have dramatically increased drop rates of diamonds and emeralds. Some planets may have increased iron production. If you're adventurous enough you can main a star (don't ask how this logically works)

(The Sun, in Minecraft.)
Make sure you keep enough fuel onboard for your spacecraft as they're quite fuel expensive.
As I said before there will be a trio of planets on release. This being Kara, Hothura, and Carbocera. Two of these you've already met (however they are much different then the last you've seen them)
(Earth on the right, yes there is clouds in space)
Carbocera is one of the planets that ethos designed before his departure, so we took it upon ourselves to finish it. The planet has thick jungles and forests and may house large new animals. The planet also houses unnaturally large amounts of coal and diamonds.
Tool Levelling:
We know that you all wanted something to do to fill the void that was slimefun being axed a millennia ago. So with this rework on how tools/weapons work we hope there will be lots of you to do. For those who remember slimefun think of this as an auto enchanter but you have to use the tool to add more. Essentially: The more you use a tool the more levels you obtain.

Each level you can put on one modifier which is essentially a powerful custom enchant, which can do a multitude of things. So you want to have the best tools? Better use your tools and slap some modifiers on it. You can stack different modifiers to customize your tools. You will be able to find each modifier when doing /mt modifier or checking out the Colenia Handbook.

Citems:
The long awaited citems is much different from the 8.0 version before. Early game of citems won't include much besides long missed Slimefun items such as slimeboots and the explosive pickaxe. Instead items early game mainly consist of agricultural/food/basic weapons items. Later on citems will include end game armor/tools. Citems will have its own dev blog in the near future.
Conclusion:
Hopefully it won't take another half a year to actually get you a dev blog, or a server release. Stay tuned for more and more importantly, make sure you join us for 9.0's release on January 15th, 2021.
